Microsoft Edge, the default browser in Windows 10, is around in 2 different versions. The original version used Microsoft’s EdgeHTML and Chakra engines but this was replaced with a Chromium based version in 2019. How you change the settings for the favourites bar to be displayed differs depending on which Version of the Edge browser you have installed.
Turn the favourites bar on in the original Version of Edge:
Click on the ‘more ‘ button in the top right corner (it looks like ‘…’.
Click on ‘Settings’
Scroll down until you see the item ‘Show the favourites bar’
Set it to the ‘On’ position —> Done!
Turn the favourites bar on in the Chromium based Version of Edge:
Click on the ‘more ‘ button in the top right corner (it looks like ‘…’.
Click on ‘Settings’
Click on ‘Appearance’
set ‘Show favourites bar’ to Always (the default setting is ‘Only on new tabs’)
